Default 03 neon sxt needs clutch what parts do i need?

hi im assuming that i would just get the clutch kit like this listed from autozone:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...300_4121_14848

while im in there though is there anything elese that should get replaced or added to the parts list thats not included with the above mention kit just to save me from a repair in the future?

thanks simmie

You could change the rear main seal and transmission mount. Slave cylinder. Shifter cable bushings. Fluid and filter.

rear main seal for sure. as suggested. Slave cylinder is pretty expensive, Not sure if you want to add it to the bill unless it is leaking.

And throw the aftermarket throw out bearing in the Clutch Kit into the gabage can, and Pick up an OEM throw out bearing. You do not want to pull the trans out for a $40 failed part in the future.
a New Flywheel is fairly cheap for the 2.0 Neon, from what I remember, probably cheaper than machining it.

with all of above mentioned, the bill gets fairly heefy, Maybe you should consider an OEM clutch kit from Online vendors. more quality assurance for a little more. When it comes to job that's so Labor intensive, I would not recommend Duralast parts.

can anyone provide a link to a better clutch kit than what autozone is offering i dont want to be doing this a second time due to shoddy parts id rather pay more for the quality parts and have the peace of mind about it.

thanks

Exedy has pretty good reputation on their clutch, another brand is Fidanza. way better than Autozone, and it saids it comes with a Flywheel as well.
still, you should get a OEM throwout bearing. Think about how long the one from the factory last you.

Default oem

so when you guys say oem you mean i should either go directly to the dealer for the parts or at least get the part number to get the exact same clutch & bearing that was originally installed on the car in the first palce? also in searching for the clutch i see alot of places saying for cars with 11th vin didgit is a "d" which mine is anyone know what the difference is? also how do i find the part numbers for the oem parts?

thanks simmie

yes, it means get it directly from the dealership.
If you want the part number, perhaps the best way to get a printed price quote from your dealer and give the part's guy your vehicle's VIN.
