Got a 2003 Dodge Neon Sxt 2.0 automatic, check engine light is on and says P0455 Done! So we were told it needed a gas cap, had a new one put on and the light never came on till we drove about 300 miles. Weve been told it could be a canister purge solenoid but i did some research on here and people are saying they had problems with the natural vaccum leak detection? Any idea's???

It is possible, but I got codes 0456 and 0452 i believe and both are EVAP leak codes. I changed every part involved in the EVAP system and the check engine light is still on, so I have no clue

Default 2003 Dodge Neon Sxt P0455 CEL code......Please Help Someone...

We have a 2003 dodge neon sxt. CEL is on and code says P0455 Done! Hooked a scanner up to it and it says it was a large leak in the EVAP system. Bought a new gas cap and that didnt work. I was told it was the purge solenoid and if it was i would have got the code P0443 which is the purge solenoid engine code. Where is the purge solenoid located so i can check the hoses and is anyone sure what it could be for sure???

Besides there being a cracked hose or something in the emissions system, it could be either the purge solenoid operation or the NVLD switch operation.

Perform a visual and physical inspection of the entire Evaporative Emission system.
Check for the follow conditions:
- Holes or cracks
- Loose seal points
- Evidence of damaged components
- Incorrect routing of hoses and tubes
- Fuel Cap gasket seal

I have changed the gas cap twice in my 2005 dodge neon and the check engine light is still reading a leak. They told me to take it and check the EVAP system. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what are some suggestions to fix this problem. I have had to fix multiple problems already this year.
