as far as the evaporative leak i was told by a mechanic i trust that it is not a major issue it just means that your gas cap is not sealed well. i currently have the same problem with my car on the P0700 transmission control system failure. i am guessing that you have over 70,000 mi because the dodge neon se have a transmission that gives out around that time. the only answer is to replace it especially if you have been feeling the gears slip or lessen in power.

I need some advice on what transmission to buy i wanna find performance and quality without killing my wallet. if anybody had any recommendations please let me know.

p0456 could also be a crack in the fuel lines. check them. as far as the transmission, i have no idea hopefully someone else can chime in. I'm assuming your cars are manual?

you guys with tranny problems need to change the filter and replace the fluid with ATF+4 before you decide to get a new tranny. 70,000 miles is not alot of miles and im sure your trans is not fried.

I agree, change the fluid and filter. Carefully examine the old fluid and look in the pan for particles or other evidence of internal damage. If the fluid is scorched, that's a bad sign.
