Default need some helpfull input

Well hey its been awhile since I have been on here, I put my neon project on the back burner for about six months and stop driving it, mostly cause one of my rims cracked, but then my wife did it again and wrecked her new car so I put some new tread on the stock rims and she has been driving it till her car gets fixed... damn insurance didnt bother to tell us that are full coverage didnt cover rental.

So to get to my questions, my wife will be getting her car back next week and when she does i want to do some work to the neon to get it ready for a 1300 mile drive, we are moving in two months and i want to use the neon to transport my three dogs cause we dont want them in are daily drivers for that long "my dogs shed alot and its a pain in the *** the get all the hair out" plus i have four rigs and can only tow one, so now i have to get the neon in tip top shape for the long trip, so i was thinking i would do the timing belt since the car has 115,000 miles on it, then do plugs and wires and not sure what else i should do to get ready for the trip so any ideas that im forgeting would be great.

Heres the timing belt kit im thinking about getting... any input on it would be great, and the faster the response the better cause i want to start on this right when she gets her car back so i want to have the parts odered and here waiting cause i have a busy schedule to fit this into before we move.

another question is I was reading awhile back about a fuel filter on top of the fuel pump on the tank that cost 30 bucks and i was woundering if that is something to change for good measure plus i have a feeling it needs to be replaced cause the previouse owner was bad about driving it on E all the time.

I don't know what brand parts are in that kit, and I personally won't buy it if I don't know what it is. I've got all of the Gates parts numbers in the maintenance thread, and I believe, links to the kits on Amazon. The Gates kits don't come with the seals, but the seals are inexpensive.

It wouldn't hurt to change that filter, no. It's something I've been meaning to do, but just haven't gotten around to it.

That filter will likely be a dealer part. Something like $30 IIRC. If the coil pack works, leave it alone IMO.

Thanks to Darth on this kit info I went with rockauto's name brand parts & tossed in a cam seal since I was that far in. Also it's a good time to replace the frame motor mount too

I've put on 50k+ miles since the timing kit install runs like a champ

This is what I show:
FILTER, Fuel Pressure Regulator 05278631AA

Might be an outdated number, but the dealer will still be able to find it.
EDIT: Nvm. That is the number for the whole assembly. Not sure why, but it is...I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT 2: OK. The external filter is part of the regulator. You buy a new regulator and just replace it apparently.
