I just put my new exhaust on its a 2.5 inch cat back mgan flow dual ovaled tip. I was gonna buy a header soon and was wondering if i should buy a high flow cat when i replace the header as well?

A cat is a cat from what I heard. It wouldn't hurt to get a high flow cat but it wont make much of an improvement. Which header are you looking at?

i beg to differ......after a header ur cat is just another restriction i always thought the reason u dont get much gain from the header is because the cat is huge and its not very highflowing, a mechanic told me this, he said if u put a header plus a highflow cat ull get good gains, its just like the intake and the intake manifold...picture the header as an intake, sure it gives u hp, but when it goes into the cat (the intake manifold) itll be restricted....i know for my breathing system im going intake, intake manifold, header and cat, and then finally exhaust, i already have intake, header, and exhaust, so i need intake manifold and cat..

p.s..Is the Indy Manifold the only one available for the 2nd gen neon's if it is, are they good??

go obx and take out the cat and roll with straight pipes. yeah **** will knock ur socks off, but dont forget to fool the o2 sensor. but i am sorry to hear u got 2.5 inch piping and dual tips. first off ur car doesn't have a turbo, 2.5 inch piping is what they use on stock turbo cars, and they usually upgrade to 3inches. Neons have stock 2 icnd piping, u should have ugraded to 2.25 for best hp gains from a cat back, also the dual tips is not going to get as better hp as a single outlet especially cause it's just a 4 banger, bot not v6 or v8. I hate it when people make custom dual exhaust cuase it's stupid for 4 bangers plus it doesn't add more hp with two mufflers or two tips.

A mechanic also told me a cat was a cat. It should help though.

That is true, but the high flows are a little better and a new one is not gonna be clogged, the old one might be,
