Default Headed for the shredder

I think I'm sending my '01 to the great shredder.
New tires to pass inspection in January.
Replaced the head gasket and everything else that should have been while it was apart in March.
Immediately followed by the transmission cooling coil failing in the radiator, replaced the radiator.

MAJOR overheat this morning on the way to work. I'm sure at minimum, the head is shot. Loads of oil in the radiator when I opened the cap.

Not worth another cent in my book.

Don't sell it for parts or anything.

The thing really got on my nerves after all the work and money I just spent.

I have oil in the coolant again, and I doubt the MLS head gasket failed. It appears the thermostat got stuck in the closed position.
I think what really gets me is that while it was in nuclear melt down mode, the temperature gauge was in the lower part of the "normal" range and never got anywhere near the upper part of the gauge.

I actually do live near a vehicle shredder that will completely shred a full size Greyhound type bus in 13 seconds. Engine, axles, wheels and all.
If I do trash the Neon, I'll post a link to the you tube video.

Well, I'm just saying that you could sell it for say, $400-$800 to a scrap yard or something for parts. I'm sure there's someone out there that could use the parts. The engine might be overheating, but that doesn't mean the gas tank should be trashed. Doesn't mean the transmission is completely shot. Doesn't mean the brake hardware is shot. Doesn't mean any of the interior needs to be trashed. Needs a new motor. Big deal. Sell it on craigslist for ~$800 and be done with it. Just seems like such a waste to shred it.
