Default replaced brakes and rotors

Hey everyone,
So, I replaced my brake pads and rotors on the front of the car and now after test driving the wheels are both smoking pretty significantly.... I can't figure out what to do next. I took both tires off and took out the brake pads and checked everything. The calipers worked fine prior to this... I feel like the caliper isnt retracting when I let off the brake... Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance everyone

Did you clean the oil off the rotors? (there is also oil in the cooling fins of the rotors)

That will happen. It should go away after about a week. It smells pretty bad and looks like your car is on fire, but like MoparKyle said, it's just the oil on the new rotors.

yeah i used brake cleaner and sprayed it down good. Actually took brake pads and rotors back to autozone and got a new set. Put it all back together and it is doing the same thing. Did a brake bleed, checked all my work. Still smoking quite significantly after driving around the block. I'm gonna try to drive it to work (a couple of miles away) and see what happens. I'm hoping it will just go away after a few stops. If not I suppose the next step is to replace the brake lines or the calipers.... completely frustrated at this point. I've taken the thing apart and put it back together at least 8 times in the past 48 hours....

sometimes the autozone pads are a tad too thick and rub, causing the excessive heat/smoke. Don't warp your rotors if you can keep from it just do short trips or do what I did and rub them on the smooth concrete a few times to hone them down a lil
