Default fuel filter...

Will a 97 neon fuel pressure regulator/filter fit a 2002 dodge neon SE? If you got to o'rielly's web site it show differant prices, BUT looks the same. Just the PR not the accumulator.

Nope. Plus the pressure is different between the '97 and '02

I'll take a pic tomorrow of the different regulators for you. I think the '02 is 58 psi and the '97 is 53 psi.

Is there a massive price difference or something that prevents you from just buying the proper part to begin with?

massive price difference....you could say that.....

looking @ orielly's site, for the 97 neon, lists 2 models of regulators:

Artex/wells Part # 5g1101 for $36.79

AutoZone:
GP Sorenson Part #800-438 For $41.99

for The 02SE:
Orielly:
Master Pro Ignition part # 2fpr12 for $252.99
BWD Part # 23080 for $108.99

Rock Auto has:
Standard Motor Products Part # pr319 For $86.79
Artex/wells Part # 5g1102 for $97.79

You can get just the filter, so I'm told, for not too much at all (for some reason, ~$40 is ringing a bell?). A new regulator will only do good if the one on the car is bad.
