Hey guys, I've had my 02 Neon for about 8 months now and it has always had ICE COLD a/c.. Up until 2 days ago it was working perfectly (still ice cold), overnight I noticed a huge issue.

Now it blows cool, not cold at all. And I noticed the A/C compressor kicks on for about 4 sec then turns off for about 10.. On 4sec, off 10sec and continues that process.. I put a gauge on and it reads about 50psi when compressor is off, compressor comes on and the needle makes its way to about 24psi, compressor turns off and needle makes its way back up to 50psi. and so on.. I have no idea if that is any help

Any advice or things I can troubleshoot?? I live in central florida and its not fun driving my sauna-on-wheels around town

 

Sounds like low charge to me.

 

Ok, I will buy a can tomorrow and add some to the system. I'll keep you posted on the results

 

Were you able to fix your AC? My AC is the same thing I had ac recharged 6months ago freezing cold now its not blowing cold...Compressor cycles on & off touched ac line and its cold I dont get it anymore?

 

If you have to have your A/C recharged it means there was a leak.

 

Yes when i added the freon the compressor works properly and blows cold again.. After 2 weeks the freon leaked out and had the same symptoms. I have an obvious leak in the system
