Noise from front wheel(s)
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what is wrong with my 2002 sxt? I just bought it and it seems to have almost a rubbing noise comming fromt he front end when i drive. If i get on the gas it is more faint but when i am just coasting it seems to be the worst. The wheel begins to shake at about 65mph if i'm not on it. It was raining today and it seemed to be louder at first and maybe worse when i slightly hit the brake. I have been told that it is probably the cv joint, is there anyone else who may know what the problem may be? Thanks
i know with me, when it rains or is damp my brakes get some rust on them and dont sound good for a little, might wanna check that out. if you just got it... is it under any kind of warrenty?
If its shaking I'd guess either your rotor or wheel is loose right guys? Or mayby it's just time for new brake pads? That's why my front left wheel was squeaking...
Good Luck

yea i just installed 17 inch rims on my car, and makes noises, it also shakes the steering wheel when i go over 55, i was thinking it needs an alignment, but can anything else be wrong?
if it is shaking, then you either have bad bushings, bent wheel (Seen new out of the box have very unacceptable runout) bad tire to rim mounting causing excess runout, or bad balancing. If they just static balanced the wheels and put the weights on the inboard edge of the rim, I have seen that be worse than no weights at all and it wanting 2 oz of weight. So you have to check carfully.
As far as noise, you have to check carefully as well looking for loose components and bad parts.
Oh one last thought, if you changed the offset too much you may have upset the toe requirements of the car. As that would change the scrub radius possibly requiring more or less toe to be correct. Have a good shop look it over and check where it is at.
