Unhappy Cam shaft for a SOHC?

Hey im looking into buying a cam for my 2003 SX 2.0 but i cant really find many good cams for a 2.0L SOHC. iv been looking around and it seems like it is more common to find cams for a DOHC. anyone know of a good company that has them? and what parts would all be required for my engine's saftey? (i dont feel like blowing it anytme soon) and possibly the HP gain??

Having NGC, you can get away with a mild cam, 'bout it. Crane 10 or 12, can't remember exactly which. Plenty of threads about it though. After that, you'll be looking at aftermarket engine management.

I believe it is a Crane 12 but that is going back a long ways so yeah, do a search.

Looks like a Crane 10 for a non-turbo engine. That's why both get mentioned: 10 for N/A and 12 for boosted.

From my understanding the crane 10 is close to the R/T camshaft and gives about the same performance ... how much truth there is I don't know though.

Crane 12 is allmost similar to 02 R/T.
Crane 10 is close to 95 cam.

You can use a 12 in a NA engine, but its built for turbo, to spoole it up faster.

I have this mods, if some ar intrested:

98 1.gen:

crane 12
Crane springs.
Milled .030
3 angle valve job.
Headman short tube. (looking forvard to LTH )
Mpx UDP
Mpx 60mm TB
3,94 trans
CAI.
Protane motor bushings.
Semi solid strut.
195/50-15.

1/4 mile: wery lo 15's. Trying to reach 14.9!

ca 140 whp.

The R/T is an N/A engine though. If it is close to that, do you know why they say it's better suited for turbo engines? What is different about the '95 cam compared to later versions?

I dont know about the 95, I think it have a bit more lift than a 98 and 2002.
Crane 12 have a longer opening, so the turbo spole up faster.

Alright, thanks! I'm not on the "up and up" on the camshaft choices, lol.
