I found someone selling custom made CAIs and also found an Iceman for sale for about the same price. Any thoughts?

 

If i remember correctly,(anyone more knowledgeable PLEASE correct me if i'm wrong) the Iceman intakes were "the cat's meow" when it came to CAI's back in the day. again unless i'm mistaken they didn't really make one for the 2nd Gen Neon, but the one for the 1st gen fit.
I THINK that's the model i have on my car, (installed by prev. owner - my brother), i know the install instructions he gave me were for an iceman for the 1st gen(<'99)...
I can also tell you the cone filter wasn't a K&N, but an AFE....dunno if that says anything for you or not....

 

They did make them for 2nd gen's. The last new ones were sold out modern performance in January of 2010. I imagine they are very rare and hard to find. And yes they were pretty much the best from what I heard, but I was happy with my K&N.

 

If you can find an Iceman and will pay the price, go for it.

 

So lets say I found one for around $150 I should definitely buy it right?

 

If it's complete and it's the same price as something like a K&N system, or less, yeah. I don't know about the whole "custom CAI" thing. There really isn't that much to it on the Neon.
