Default 2004 , dodge neon p0016,p0344,p0339 codes

Just replaced head in my 2004neon, (from 2001 donor)due to timing belt breaking and bending couple valves
i put everything back together and its giving me these codes, i know its in time. I checked it 3 times before putting it back together. Has new crank sensor and cam shaft sensor. Car idles great but once you get above about 1000RPM the car runs rough and cuts off. Was told that the computer needs to re learn the new sensors and the new head. Was told to drive it but i cant so the computer would re learn itself. Any and all help would be appreciated

Thanks

IIRC the camshaft sensor magnets are different on the 2001 vs 2004 heads. try using the magnet off of your old head. I had the same problem on an 03 neon when I used an 01 head. After trying everything else some one mentioned that and it solved my problem. Hope that helps.

I have a similar issue, on my 2004 neon i get codes P0344 and P0016. I changed out my old cylinder head for a refurbished one, purchased on ebay. The car starts well and idles well, but as soon as you take the rpm over 2,300, it begins to sputter/misfire. I changed the cam sensor but it didn't fix the problem.

You mentioned that cam sensors are different, but how would I know which sensor to get? I still have the old head, should I change out the cam rod since it worked with an 04 sensor? Will it fix the problem. I didn't have this issue before, only after the new head was installed.

He said cam sensor "magnets" (located under the cam sensor) are different & must match the year of computer. & therefore the same for cam sensor
