Default Shifter **** Question

So I got one of the cheap $20 shift ***** from AutoZone, and I've had a few before, but I don't like how I always have to tighten them constantly. The one I have now is actually JB Welded to the shifter itself, and so it's pretty solid, and isn't going anywhere. I've tried. I actually ordered a new shifter just so I can have a better ****.

The new **** I got is just a simple "ball" type, and has three "hidden" screws in the neck. My question is, is there a good way to make it stay on there, but also be removable if I see fit? I was thinking maybe drilling and tapping some holes in the shifter so the screws can actually screw into the shifter, but I don't know how to, and I sure as hell don't have the tools for the job, other than a household drill.

What would somebody recommend?

Lock tight... Its used on plenty of things that are removed. I remove bolts everyday with lock tight on them. I am saying to put it on the allen screw so they dont back out. Then it will stay on. If you want to remove it, unscrew it. I also have wrapped the rod in a little electrical tape so the shifter ball fits on more snug. I would never attempt to drill and tap the shifter rod.

Use blue loctite on the set screws.
