Oil Drain Bolt

Default Oil Drain Bolt

My oil drain bolt wont tighten all the way onto my oil pan. Can i just throw some threadlock in there and call it a day or get a new drain bolt or oil pan?

Why won't it tighten all of the way?

I'm assuming it's stripped out? If that's the case you have 4 options..

1.If you're lucky the threads are only bad on the plug, get a new plug and see
2. By an oversized plug (be gentle with it)
3. They sell kits to helicoil the pan.
4. Replace pan and plug (usually least preferred)

Agreed.

Replacing the pan on these cars is ridiculously easy though...messy, but really easy.

Did you check that the gasket is still in place?
