LOL. Different headlights and taillights don't make a new generation of car.

I think there were a number of changes that Chrysler advertised, but I may be wrong.

Generations are a body-style thing. There are several differences, but the body remained the same. The headlights and taillights are cosmetics.

Find the odd man out...

I finally got around to checking the Ps fluid. First off it is low and I need to add some. Secondly i noticed it was the same clear-yellow as what is dripping into the cabin. Is the PS fluid switch located underneath the dash, near the wheel or is it inside the engine compartment?

I have noticed that my radiator is leaking anti-freeze through the top of the rad, where that stamp is. That will have to be my next project, good thing i purchased a Haynes. Anyone have any advice on radiator issues? such as should i replace the hoses, a new water pump (if i have to touch it) stuff like that.

Replaced the Radiator, and the hoses. I still have to get around to that leak. My best bet is the power steering switch. I also have a oil leak to address still. I'll keep everyone updated as i get to it.

Cheers for life!

I had no idea that he was actually talking about the OBD port.. lol that's strange.
My 2K Neon came with power steering fluid. The car was new and the fluid was not red. It looked more like the color of clean engine oil that like ATF. AND the owners manual doesn't specify ATF for the power steering.

According to Alldata, and my power steering reservoir, 03 and up Neons take ATF+4 so there obviously must be some subtle differences between the model years if what you're saying is true.

I did some reading around and there is a TSB stating that starting in some 2001 and 2002 MY Dodge vehicles (which included the '01/'02 Neon and the '02 PT), the P/S fluid would be switched out for ATF.

The factory till power steering fluid was or will be changed for some 2001 and 2002 model year vehicles. The new fluid is ATF+4 (M59602) and it provides superior performance at both low and high end temperatures.
It seems 2000 and some 01/02 Neons are the only ones that used regular P/S fluid.
