Hello, I have a 2000 Automatic Neon 2.0 engine and over the last few months I've noticed a pool of oil (not dark oil, on the yellow side) dripping from the OBD plug and onto my rubber mat. It is steadily getting worse. I was wondering where on earth it could be coming from. I looked with a flashlight and saw no visible signs of a leak running towards it other than immediately to the left of it which was only slightly wet. Any thoughts on that?
Sounds like you have a power steering pressure switch leaking and the PS fluid is wicking back thru the wiring harness to the OBDII plug under the dash. The switch should be located on the PS line close to the pump. Replace the switch if it is leaking.

Interesting thought, but even if the fluid somehow managed to wick upwards, through the firewall and back down to the OBD-II port, the fluid is red (they use transmission fluid as PS fluid). It sure sounds like something is running down the lines, as odd as this problem is. The brake fluid reservoir is above those lines and the fluid is a lighter yellow (once it is used a bit).
Remove the dip stick from the PS fluid reservoir and check the color on a white paper towel. Tranny fluid can be used in the PS but some still have the standard yellowish PS fluid. A drop or two on a white paper towel will answer the question.

If it is a standard PS fluid, someone flushed the system and swapped fluid types. All 2nd Gen Neons come from the factory with transmission fluid as the PS fluid. It is something that should be checked, though I don't think a paper towel is needed to tell the difference between an almost clear fluid and a bright red one.
