Default Block Heater - 2000

Hello all,
I have a 2000 Neon, base model. This year she is going to have to spend the winter outide. In MN that means collllldddd. I have a two part question. First, if the car came with a block heater where would I find the plug, and if it did not can I install one? Thanks for any help

Sure, you can install one if you can find aftermarket parts for that.

I don't think your car has a block heater on it. If it has, you would know where the plug is.
When the Dodge Neon came out, there weren't many options like you see in newer vehicles today.

The block heater doesn't come standard on these newer vehicles. You have to pay an additional price for it.

You can just leave it outside. It will start up just fine.
Let the engine idles for a little bit, and then drive slowly until the engine warm up.

Only thing when you leave your car outside is: you have to wake up early to defrost the windows, and everything.

I don't know how your garage is, but mine is not insulated. The air temp inside, and outside are pretty much the same.

I bought, but haven't installed yet, this one from amazon:
Amazon Amazon

the installation instructions are buried in the FSM, which you can find in Darth Roush's Signature.(Pages 21&22 of 07.cooling.pdf in the 04 fsm, but i doubt there were big enough engine changes to affect this particular app.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into that kit. I have the full service manual so I'll have a look at that as well.
