01 neon 2.0LE engine swap for a 2.0LX 01 engine won't start Help
Hi there my name is Roger, we swapped engines recently 2001 2.0LE for a 2001 2.0LX the swap is complete all cables/wires etc.. plugged in but won't start. All I get is one click from the starter but no turn over. It was pretty straight forward swap just removed one put in the other and hooked it all up. stumped
Question: Do the ignition/chip/keys, or computer have to swapped over too? or does it matter? I got code : p1685 for invalid skim key?
Any input/knowledge would be great. Thanks

SKIM = Security Key Immobilization Module. Its parts of the security system so if your key is not programmed correctly, the vehicle will not start.
Dumb question, but are you using the right key? The way the system works is there is a chip reader in the ignition that reads the key, which is coded to your VIN/PCM. So, assuming you did not touch the ignition system, PCM, etc, then it shouldn't matter whether the engine is from a different vehicle or not. Have you tried resetting the PCM and trying again? Tried with a second or valet key?
