Front end "hop"
2000 neon with automatic trans.
This is an unusual problem I am having. Recently my car started “Hopping” or shaking real bad when I start off from a stop. It feels like it is coming from the driver’s side front end. If I accelerate slowly it will not behave this way, only when I give the car a fair amount of gas. The moment I get going only a few miles per hour I can floor it all I want and it will behave normal. It is only from a complete stop. If I am on a hill it will be more pronounced like the extra amount of gas needed to get moving causes it to increase, but if I have another adult person in the car it will not do it at all, almost as if the extra weight is causing the car to accelerate too slowly to make it happen. All other functions are normal.
Any ideas?
