Weird Shifting issue

Never dealt with auto's before, always 5 speeds...so this is a weird one for me.
Transmission shifts and runs just fine, no CEL or codes at all. But shifting from what I think is 2nd to third, it sometimes "slams" into gear. Other times, when I pull up to a stop, it won't shift into 1st and just sits in neutral - like it started to shift but stopped.
Thought my solenoid was bad, but tested it and all resistance levels are great. Replaced fluid and filter, which actually did help - but this one won't go away.
My thoughts, is it one of the 2 sensors on the front of the tranny? Input and output speed i believe?
Or...and I hope is not the case...is the trans shot.
Please help guys!

The problem with your trans is fixed by most people by replaced the control solenoid. These people get code p0700, but you don't.
Let me know how you fixed this problem.
I'm having a problem with my car shift hard into 3rd. It shifts smooth in all gears, but whenever it downshifted from 3rd to 2nd, if I give it gas, the car will gain some speed and shift hard into 3rd.
Like you, I don't get any code.

On Chrysler trans, there a relearn procedure.
You don't need to relearn the tcm if you have only replaced the solenoid, input sensor, and output sensor.
Reflash if you have the newest update.
I heard there are newer updates for the tcm over the years.

UPDATE
So ok, here is what I have done so far.
1. New fluid and Filter
2. New Solenoid
3. New input sensor
4. New output sensor
Pulled TCM and it has a sticker on it saying it was updated in '03 (car is an '02)
Until the motor warms up, the tranny shifts fine. ONce warm, it shifts pretty darn hard between 2nd and third gear only. No leaks, clicks from the solenoid, or any other symptoms. No metal in the fluid either.
THoughts? I'm at a loss...trying to decide if the $100 reflash is worth the gamble...or does that sound like its it?
