Both motors did that same sound on mine(2000 model), original started clackin noticibly at 181k so I ran 50wt... This 2nd motor is now around 60k and clacks when I run 5w30 full syn. If new rocker's fixes that I'd be down for a set this winter

 

Apparently the most common dodge neon sound known to man. If you ever figure it out.. please let us know. I have that tick as well.. but it's not constant and can only hear it in idle.

 

Yeah keep us posted, if rockers fixes it I'll get off my lazy *** and put some one mine.

 

ok... I'll let ya know when I get money to get em from salvage... so you know the Hydrolic lash adjusters and rockers are 1 there not servicable. so ill get both intake and exhuast with shafts and spacers and fill the plungers (pump it up with oil ) then install and ill make a new video.. wont be for a while, like at least a month.. but im crazy enough to do it in the winter
