Which noise are you talking about? That ringing noise?

No there is a ringing after you let off the throttle or are you talking about the clattering noise?

I haven't really looked much into that clattering but mine has made the same noise for quite some time. I always thought it was a rod knock some people think it is valvetrain noise, like I said I haven't paid much attention to it. I'm not sure about that ringing though.

 

I got $$$$ on the rockers for the chatter noise when the throttle is let up. That "whine" noise I hear sounds like a belt to tight or PS pump. Rod knock gets louder under load. Maybe piston slap, this isn't uncommon on these motors. But I can definitely hear valve train noise.

 

ok kool ya the whine is my alternator belt, i know its to tight...rockers?...kool i can get some from salvage and just swap both intake and ehaust rockers and everything from springs up, for cheap....thanks guys. i know its not rod knock ive changed 1 set of connecting rod bearings thinking that was it and the bearing have wear but nothing to cause noise....go to you tube and find my videos....agina, thanks.
