Default 2000 neon coolant smells outside.

My neon has a brand new radiator that i put in like 3 months ago and it has a lifetime on it.

For the past couple weeks ive been smelling coolant and i looked everywhere for leaks and no leaks. But every once every 3 weeks maybe 4 i gotta put coolant in it. not a whole bunch but some. My car doesnt blow no white smoke so no head gasket blown water pump is fine could it be the radiator housing and i know there is a brand new cap on it it was done when the radiator was put in.

So what could be the problem?

Could the heater core leaks? Do you smell coolant when you in your car?

Yep, not uncommon for heater cores to go bad on these cars. If you look on the firewall right behind the alternator, you'll see (or should see) a rubber elbow. That's the A/C condensor drain. It has like a spring clamp that you can squeeze to remove the elbow. If you see or smell any signs of coolant in it, then it's the heater core.

If it has a leak, it's only a small leak.
I also have a small leak on the radiator's side. I don't want to spend $200 on it so I just put duck tape on it. The leak is so small, it only wet the duck tapes I have put on.

Also, did you let pocket airs out when you filled antifreeze?
The system is not full of antifreeze if it has pocket airs in it.

Buy or borrow a coolant pressure tester. If you're adding coolant it has to be going somewhere. Pressurize system and observe for leaks.

The only leak that I've EVER seen my Neon have was the T-stat housing seeping.

don't use radiator leak sealer, that crap will eat up a water pump shaft seal in no time, just in my experiences with older mopars when I was young an too lazy to try an fix it hehe

Just like oil addictives. I wouldn't trust those stuffs on my car. Will only use them as another option.
