Cool The Official 2nd Gen Neon Off-Topic Thread

I figure we get going off-topic at times about different things, so I'm making this thread where such conversations can be continued, or new ones started! If this thread takes off a bit with conversation, I'll sticky it so it's easy to find. If not, I'll just let it naturally die off!

I'll start it off with: what's on everyone's Christmas lists?

Nice! Time off of work would be nice, though, I'll be lucky to get Christmas off...the one day I asked for, lol.

I work at a casino. Seniority doesn't matter even though it's supposed to. The system, aka "the house," always wins where I work, lol.

I think my Neon is on it's last legs lol, but I'm gonna keep her truckin.

The motor mounts are so bad that the motor pinches the A/C line between the radiator when I park on an incline. It sounds like a diesel when I start it up, and when it gets warm it has a constant tapping. The transmission slips on 2-3 on the first shift when cold, needs rebuilt.

I could go on, but somehow the SOB keeps on driving. I've literally put almost no money into that car other than routine maint.

good thing about a/c lines they are bendable when not under a load, I've used the old tubes out of my dirt bike and ziptied pieces i've cut out on areas the a/c line rubs. The trans is not hard to rebuild just be sure to get a full kit, or drop the unit off an have it done. These 3 speeds are cheap if you can r&r the trans on your own.

come to think of it I have to park on hills all the time here, constant stress on them maybe that's why I keep eating motor mounts?

I'm so ready for a big ole can of beer right now!

Lol it's a 41TE, I've taken a few apart before, I just don't want to do my own..

The way I figure as soon as I start doing some work to it, it will get angry and other things will start breaking. So I got the Dart if I need it.

Rebuilding automatics are just generally a chore anyways. These cars do seem to keep going, contrary to popular belief that American cars only last a couple of years before they are done.
