Have a 2001 Neon, the Powertrain Control Moduel (PCM) was replaced and the PCM doesn't match the VIN number of the Neon. Ingnition was replaced and the programed key is lost and the old PCM is nowhere to be found. The car will not start because the PCM thinks the car is being stolen and turns the engine off. Does anyone know where or how I can find a Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM)? I think installing the SKIM is a relatively cheap fix than buying a new PCM (for a car without anti theft). Also, does anyone know why the car continued to run about 5months with a PCM with different VIN than the car?

You will need to replace the PCM with a reman that needs to install the vin number or some how blow the invalid vin number out and put your vin number in. In the mean time i will move your post to the 2nd gen neon section.
