Default Brake pedal bounces

I pressed it down, it pushed my foot back.

Some people said the brake disk surfaces are uneven, or bent brake disks, which make sense to me. What else can cause the brake to do that? I have a general knowledge of the brake system but I'm not familiar with it.

I should have parked my car, and stepped on the brake petal to test the brake disks. Last time I helped my old man changed the brake pads, and bled the system, the brake disks/rotors were fine.
The problem is gone now, but I'm sure it will come back.

Can the brake fluid freeze up at cold temperature? It was very cold last night.
Or maybe air is in the system?

No, I don't have anti brake system. It was an optional on Neon right?
I heard the ABS can cause problem like that.

no worry's about your fluid freezing up it works till about -30 deg. surprisingly, did the pedal push back with the engine off? If the engine was off you're ok. If the pedal pulses as you come to a stop from 25-10 mph the rotors & drums are slightly warped/out of true. If they are new rotors or drums you can have them do a "final turn" which will take that out.

I put new drums on for the 1st time got around 50 miles or less and had to get them turned already lol That was a carquest brand.

Thanks,

I was just backing my car out of the drive way. The two front tires got locked (Because of snow, and ice) so, I came out to checked on the driver side wheel but not the passenger side wheel. I got back into my car, and I stepped harder on the gas pedal to get the car moving. I heard cracking noises. When I got home, and checked on both front wheels, the passenger side wheel had lot of snow on (Wind blew to that side last night).

My brake hasn't done that since then.
I think ice has built up on the passenger side brake disk, and caliper.
The brake disk's surfaces looked smooth enough for me.

I really dont like some of expervillage videos.
I was checking out videos on best ways to paint your drums and calipers and one of their videos popped up on brakes.. Some weren't too bad at all and some of the guys seemed knowledgeable
