Default strut tower mount bar

Have any of you used a strut tower mount before in any of your vehicles?

I have read that it does actually is useful to older cars with higher mileage 100k +

I was thinking about adding one to my neon but, as always I figured I would ask around.

If it's meant that they are useful in cars with over 100K miles in helping to compensate for the worn suspension parts that should probably be replaced at that point, then yes, they are quite useful. They seem to be quite useful on Neon either way. There's a decent amount of body roll on these cars. I don't recall them being that expensive and they certainly aren't going to make anything worse.

What one are you looking at? Those cheap universal ones off eBay? Two words of advice: 1. spend some extra money and get a good brand. 2. get a rear first, if you are only buying one for now. The rear will help more than the front.

ETA: I'm not sure what year your Neon is, but if it doesn't have a rear sway bar, that will help even more than a strut brace. However, after 2000 or 2001, the stopped installing rear sway bars from the factory on non-R/Ts and ACRs like a lot of other little things so the rear factory struts don't have the mounts for the anti-sway bar. You can find brackets for sale here and there on Neon-specific forums, or, if you have 00-01 or aftermarket struts, they come with the tabs needed to install a sway bar.

The rear is for rear struts. There are two towers just like the front towers in the trunk. You can install the brace on there. It's good for hanging shopping bags also.

For street cars, I heard you won't feel much of a different.
If you like your car so much, you should invest in something like this.

Thats too much for me, with that link are you saying the others arnt worth buying?

I searched through some threads and I believe you said even a cheap one would help a bit.

I have other hobbies and I am thinking about getting rid of a lot of what I have and put some of that money (wont be much) toward my car whether its fixing or upgrading.

People have had the cheap eBay bars bend due to the force/pressure on them; on the more important rear one anyways. It's like they say, "cry once, buy once." Just save up a little here and there and get something good to begin with. I think you will be better served by a good, solid bar than a piece of cheap metal. $150 is the new price. I've caught the DC bar (and other similar "good" bars) on Craigslist for much cheaper.

Just found this on eBay too. It's the same DC rear strut bar for $108 shipped or best offer. $40 more than the set of crap bars for probably the best rear bar you can get (and remember, the front doesn't do much of anything useful besides look pretty): http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-Sports-Re...81e186&vxp=mtr

If you are serious about getting a strut bar, I'd jump on that one ASAP. Smoking deal for a new DC bar, shipped to your door without tax!!!
