Default Fuel Probem or not?

Ok, so heres the problem. My 04 sxt neon isn't running on it's own, but if I spray some starting fluid from the throttle, it will run for less than 10 secs and go out again. It seems like this all started, small, awhile back ago and eventually got worse. Has anyone out there had the same issue with their ride? I could hear the fuel pump run for about 5 secs or so when I turn the ignition key on. I've checked all the fuses everywhere. I also unplugged the fuel inlet by the fuel rail and fuel is coming out, but I don't know how much pressure it's running. Would it be the fllter back at the gas tank with the fuel pressure regulator? Help!!!!

Have you done the ignition key trick to see if you have any trouble codes?

Put the key in. Turn it on off on off on (off on - sometimes you gotta do it one more time). The codes will display on the odometer. Now you are not starting the car, just turning the power on

They trick is "WITHIN 5 SECONDS". Do it fast. Just gently, no need to break the key off

write down the code/codes and come back to the forum

Does it dribble out or shoot out? You may be getting fuel but not enough pressure.

Default fuel problem

Well, I solved it! I had to take out the gas tank and clean it throughly. I also replaced the pump with good use one and that got it to work again. It was very dirty and thats probably what caused the pressure to back up. So thanks to all that helped. I learned alot doing it myself.
