Default 2002 dodge neon

Hello. Ive just registered hoping to get some advice.

Ok so ima just number things and if somone would please answer them it would help so much. i have been outside for 10 hours trying to do this . Youtube made most look easy but now im here..

1. On a dodge neon automatic tension pulley should you be able to push it down with your hand?

2. My tension idler pulley or whatever pulley that is (small one) is chewed up. Could i just replace this or do i need a whole new automatic tensioner.

3. Idk how long i tried to get it off but behind the rear passenger tire is a panel seems like its platic material? How do i get it off. Theres a bolt behind it i need.

Long story short i guess my tension/idler pulley (the one that holds back of belt) is chewed up and broke my power steering pulley (bought a new one today havent put it on) iM still trying to get the automatic tension off to get to the small i think idler pulley? The one thats chewed up.

Any advice helps. I would prefer to replace a 20$ pulley than spend 180$ for a whole automatic tension if i dont need to.

Thank you for any advice!.

1. Don't know.
2. Yes
3. The wheel well liner? There would be a bit of work involved in that. You can look at the manual available through the hyperlink in my signature (just below this reply).

take the passanger front tire off and look up at that plastic splash shield( lay on your back) you'll see 2 10mm bolts then on the side by the radiator will be 2 push pins. Remove them and that splash shield is off. next is the bottom and top tourqe strut( motor mounts) bolts unbolt the top bolt 18mm and remove it. The long bottom mount just loosen that bolt half way 18mm. so that was the engine doesn't **** backwards on you. the remove the 55torks engione mount bolt( center mount). lower engine to remove 15mm tensioner bracket bolt( there are 3) bottom bolt. jack it back up and remover the front bolt( closest to PS pump) then the bolt above the alternator has to stay in the bracket as you remove it and reinstall it. The engine will be up and down untill you find the right spot to remove the bracket.
