Is he still running the 2.0? Because to get another 120HP N/A out of the 2.0 (or even the 2.4) your looking at MASSIVE modifications (and money) to the engine and it would make it a very unreliable car to put it mildly.
...unless you meant to say "he gained at least 20 more horsepower doing that..." then i could see that with engine mods and what not...but 120HP more N/A HELL NO...
And to my knowledge (which is quite extensive...lol) they do not make a supercharger for the Neon, although the concept SRT-4 was equipped with a S/C no mechanical plans ever made it out of SRT HQ...which is a damn shame!
If you look at the compact car magizine for the month of Febuary a guy took a 2002 SXT and used the same 2.0 SOHC engine and is currently pushing 400 WHP. thats bored out and some money behind it but its still possible to get an SXT the same if not better for cheaper then an SRT-4.

I disagree with you. It would be way cheaper to get an SRT-4 to 400 hp than it would cost to get a SOHC Neon up there. If you're talking about Roach's Neon, I would guess that he put some serious money in that. The SRT-4 also has more potential b/c of it's larger DOHC engine that is built for tuning.
I have a neon '04 sxt. I bought a turbo and intercooller for it through ebay. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to install it, and some of the parts I will need to install it. If anyone anyone knows how to do this PLEASE email me at Oddjob85@comcast.net. Thanks
yo im like any other person. i currently own THE slowest neon in MIAMI. an 02 silver auto neon se. IN LOOKS IM OK, BUT SPEED NOTHING. SO FAR JUST AN INTAKE. PLEASE GUYS HELP ME OUT TO KEEP UP WITH ATLEAST STOK CIVICS. I GET HORED LEFT AND RIGHT. CHECK MY CARDOMAIN PROFILE FOR LOOKS http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2138767 . PLEASE HELP ME?
I just bought a 03 Neon R/T. It already has a cold air intake. I was wondering what other mods would give me the most bang for my dollar. Used to race big block Pontaic with my father, but I'm pretty green when it comes to tuners. Any suggestions and people I need to talk with would be greatly appreciated
I would suggest a Kirk Longtube header, a new UDP, short shifter (either Mopar or Maddog)...then you can go with a Comp 400 cam. Dont use the Crane 14 or you wont get the good power gains since we're limited to 6750...the Comp 400 keeps the gains within the stock powerband. After that, or before the cam, get a nice P&P job done for the head and intake manifold. Or you can buy a used SRT turbo setup and skip the N/A buildup route all-together and run roughly 8PSI of boost on stock internals. The entire kit would cost around $2k if you installed it yourself.
Best bang for your buck mod would be the UDP or longtube headers...

I don't know about faster... but maybe run better?
W/ the stock exhaust, it's a decent diameter... except at the rear where it's a bit restricted. What I didn't like was the stock muffler. W/ the car "jacked", it hangs down. So, when I put on a hidden hitch (and the muffler was lowered another 3") I took the muffler shop's advice and went w/ a Magnaflow. They tucked it all up in the body, so all that shows is the new tip, where it dips down and sticks straight back. Now all that shows is the rear suspension... and the bends aren't kinked.
It seemed to improve the car's low end torque slightly and, though quiet, does have a slight low end rumble... not as loud as I expected/wanted. I was hoping for maybe 1/2 MPG.
Question: How could that possibly increase my mileage? Could it be due to smoother air flow... or maybe tricking the computer into running leaner? Could I finally have broken in the engine?
I was getting around 29 in town, and 32.6 on the highway. I decided to drive to work, instead of using the vanpool, to see if it got that 1/2MPG. Was I shocked.
150 miles yesterday... >37MPG. 150 miles today @ 36.9 MPG. (I drove harder today... 75-85 on the way up, though 65MPH homeward bound.) I last took the freeway at about 600 miles earlier on the clock... and it has 7K miles now. 150 miles on $12 worth of gas... that's acceptable. All 3 fillups were topped off... 4 clicks @ the same station, same pump.
