OK, I know it's been asked and answered I don't know how many times. But I can never get any straight answers.

2005 SXT with a manual transmission.

A) What parts do I need?
B) Can I pull some parts off a 00-02 Neon?

I already have the complete instruction PDF. Although Mopar did offer a complete kit at one point, they don't anymore, according to my local dealer. If anyone finds one of those kits, let me know.

Has anyone tried this? It doesn't look very comprehensive. It looks like ic omes with a servo motor, the "stick" and some wiring. I guess that's all the mopar kit is, but still.

 

A: The ones in the PDF.
B: As long as they are the same part (which they should be), yes.

 

well.. the controls are going to be different. the 00-02's had a different shaped steering wheel, (more of a horizontal H w/ the airbag as the cross-member, vs the T shape in the 03-05's) and the cruise switches lived on either side of the airbag...
but... all is not lost...
the PT used the same switch as the 03-05 neons.
If i had remembered to bring that parts list with me to the pick-n-pull yesterday i'd have me my own kit! (would have needed more time, but all the parts were there)... if only the lot weren't 100mi from home...

Yea, I knew the switches would be different, as I've had a 2000 Neon as well. I'm going to try to find the kit somewhere online. I understand that there are custom solutions as well, but I'd rather have the OE style.

 

good luck to ya.. i searched my little fingers off a few months back.

but just to re-iterate...the PT cruiser uses the same control stalk as the 03-05 neon, and probably most of the same parts.... so if you have a self serve junk yard in your area. have a go. just increased your donor pool.

If i had had the parts listing with me, and some more time, i would have pulled the parts for mine when i was @ the pick-n-pull the other day.
