The water pump runs off the timing belt so if the car is running the belt is on. The belt me not be as tight as it should be. most water pumps start to loose coolant when they are starting to go along with a noisy or grinding sound. Also, have you noticed if the car is running hotter on the gauge? Do you know when the timing belt was last changed?

Try this: Take a long screwdriver and be VERY CAREFUL. With engine running put the tip of the screwdriver near the bearing of the PS pump and put your ear on the handle. Listen to how loud it is. Next try the alternator, AC compressor, and belt tensioner pulley. As I said be careful with the engine running. It's hard to isolate one noise with everything running but this may help.

On my 2000 Neon I did the Timing belt and the tensioner was toast. It would free spin and was loud. Replacing that and Alternator belt made the engine run quiet.

It sucks that you had to do the timing belt but at least it's fixed. Good job.
