Question What CAI do you recommend for a 2000 Neon?

Here are a few that I'm looking to get. Which one's will fit/install better? Have you used them personally?

Amazon.com: AEM 21-422C Gun Metal Cold Air Intake System: Automotive Amazon.com: AEM 21-422C Gun Metal Cold Air Intake System: Automotive

K&N 69-2520TP Typhoon Air Intake Kit, Cold Air, Polished : Amazon.com : Automotive K&N 69-2520TP Typhoon Air Intake Kit, Cold Air, Polished : Amazon.com : Automotive

Also, I've seen a little bit of talk about the ebay CAI. Do they perform about the same as the ones listed above. If so, which one would you recommend.

Thanks for any help!

Go with whichever is cheaper. Neither are going to do a whole lot unless you start digging into the engine and exhaust.

OK, thanks for the info. I've been thinking about getting the Magnaflow catback exhaust. I was wondering if my rear bumper will need to be modded in any way to fit them. Can I install it and just have the exhaust tips slightly below the bumper?

I believe the exhaust systems for non-SRT models fit under the rear bumper. Perhaps someone who knows for sure will chime in.

I agree with Darth. I've seen Neons with dual outlet that didn't have the cutouts. However, IMO it would look better with the cutouts. But isn't entirely necessary.

take a close look @ your rear bumper. i mean Close. there may be little half moon markings in the mold to show where to trim. (@ least i THINK thats what i'm seeing on my '05 SXT's bumper...)

Thanks for all the info. I'll report back when I actually start modding.

I had the K&N on mine. It sounded good and my gas mileage went up a noticeable amount. Next thing I did was stock SRT-4 cat back exhaust. It was loud and droned a lot, a didn't mind at the time being 17-18 years old but you can't hear the intake over that exhaust. I didn't have to cut out the bumper, you can bend the exhaust hangers slightly to lower the tips to below the bumper.

if youre looking for performance, try and get a full used exhaust off the forums and a throttle body maybe. a cai isnt going to do a whole awful lot as far as power if thats what youre looking for

Well really nothing is going to do a whole awful lot as far as power goes for a Neon besides a turbo or a motor swap lol.
