Default Automatic Trunk Release Not Working

I'm trying to fix the factory automatic trunk release on my 2004 SXT. I bought the car last month, so I'm still getting familiar with it. The trunk release button seems to be OK (I can hear an electronic click in the upper dash when I press it), but the release mechanism is not getting power. I did notice that there is a connection in my trunk that doesn't seem to have anything connected to it (has a purple & a black wire) and is getting ~10V. Does anyone know what this is or have an idea of what's wrong?

Duncan21 - I have an '05 SXT that has the remote trunk release and I have a the same unused connector with the purple and black wires so I don't think that is your problem. What about the connector that is on the trunk latch (green and black wires), do you see any voltage there when your press the release button?
