Hey guys, recently my 03 se was in a wreak. Nothing major but I'm gonna need new headlamps. I was thinking I would use the opportunity to upgrade to HID. I know better than to use standard halogen housings, and I also know that there is a lot that goes into the projection lenses to give them a nice clean cutoff to the light. Anybody have good or bad experience with the different products out there? I'm probably looking to spend about $100 on the housings. Not super firm on that, but would like to stay around there.

Also, I'm gonna need to convert to the HID wiring system. As far as color goes, I'm looking for white maybe going into a slight tinge of yellow. Any suggestions?

I did a full on retrofit on my 04 Ranger. That required cutting a hole in the Headlamp housing and mounting the projector into it. The Projectors i got from iJDMTOY off Amazon for $100 shipped to doorstep (That is for the pair, not a single). I got 6000k HID bulbs and 3Five D2S Ballasts from TheRetrofitSource.com for about $150. I bought new Aftermarket Headlamp units to cut into for $15 each (crystal clear lenses rather than my beat up stock ones). I purchased the MotoControl wire harness so it was all plug and play. Rather easy mod to do. Don't know what it would entail on a Neon, could be easier. The Ranger is as involved as it gets.

Before i did all that I did research into HID Projector Pre-made units and couldn't find anything that looked good. Spyder had some but they wanted $300 for them (I think it was for the pair...). I also heard that their projector cut-off was complete crap. So for roughly the same cash I did it with the best products. I don't know what is out there for Neons, never looked since my Neon is my beater at the moment. If your interested I could send you a 07 Word file that has my 25 page guide to retrofitting HIDs into a Ranger. Nearly all of the information will apply to the Neon. Except a few details that have to be changed.

By the way, Love my HIDS. Will never go back to Halogen.
