can anyone help me with this computer error code?
Hi,
My 2001 plymouth Neon(automatic trans.) has had a check engine light on ever since I got it(used). I had the code pulled & reset @ Autozone & it came up up with a torque converter circuit code. Does anyone know what would normally cause this code? The car seems to drive ok except sometimes it seems like you have to push the gas pedal in seemingly farther than you should to get it to accelerate at a decent rate. So in an emergency situation where you might need quick acceleration I think you would be screwed!!! But this may be normal for all I know since this is the 1st Neon that I have ever driven. Can anyone give me any tips/suggestions/ideas?? I have to get the car inspected(live in DE) next year & I hear that if there is check engine light/code present they will fail the car for the inspection. Thanks in advance.
BTW....after the code was reset it came back again a couple miles down the road.

my check engine light came on when i bought my 2001 neon. it was also the first time i had ever owned or driven a neon. i have wanted one for a long time but never had the money for one. anyways, i got on here and told everyone that my car was sputtering and hesitating from a dead stop and i was told that if i had platinum spark plugs under the hood that was a definate problem. so i got ngk iridiums and msd wires and i have never had the problem since. maybe it isnt only the torque converter. if you are getting a hesitation then try checking your plugs, wouldnt hurt to check
