Default Check engine light!!!

I have a 2005 Neon SRT design, and after I installed a cold air intake, the engine light came on. The car runs great, its brand new, less than 3k miles. I had to take off the 2 wiring harnesses from the throttle body, and one from the old cold air intake. Did it come on just because i disconnected them? the idle is great, everything is fine except for that damn light!

Did you reconnect them? What is the code? Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so to reset the PCM, see if the code comes back.

If you turned the key on while the connectors were unplugged then thats probably why the light's on. Also make sure your new intake tube has a intake air temp sensor installed like the old one did.

That wouldn't cause the light to come on. I had my sensor unplugged for months and never got a check engine light for it. I would just disconnect the battery and see if it goes away.

The pcm will not turn on the mil over just any connector, but the two on the t-body he refered to is the tps and iac. If the tps is un plugged it will set a P0123 tps sensor 1 voltage high, if the iac is unplugged it sets a P0509 IAC sense circuit high. I don't know what connector you had unplugged or why it didn't turn on the mil, but either of these connectors should set a code in the pcm.

I would be talking about the sensor that is plugged into the intake tube. And no, it didn't throw a single code for me while unplugged. I never said anything about uplugging connectors on my throttle body.

dude i did the same thing. just put some ngk iridium plugs and msd wires and it will be fine. if they are platinum plugs that is why you are having a check engine light problem, mine had the same thing
