Default Would a 2002 PCM fit in a 2003?

Both Neon's have the same engine and both automatic. But all I can find is a 2002 Neon PCM and was wondering if it would work in a 2003 Neon? Thanks for any help

I am not 100% sure, but I believe that you should be able to swap the PCMs. You might have to do some rewiring of sensors and stuff.

It will not work... It will fit, but it will not run your car. 2003+ has, what they call, a NGC ECU.

The 2003+ have a different crank trigger. Its a 13 tooth crank wheel... also the crank sensor is on the front side of the block, rather than the back on 95-02's.

Obviously you could make it work. You need a new crank, and you will have to drill and tap a hole for the crank sensor on the other side of your block.

oh, i almost forgot... The magnet on a 00-02 cam sensor is also different from the 2003+. That can be easily changed though... I'm running an 01 magnum head on my 2003. I just swapped the magnet from the stock head to the 2001.

Ok, guess I was wrong, lol. I knew about the NGC and some sensors being different, but not the crank sensor. Are you sure that its in a different place, the blocks are the same for 95- 05.

absolutley, positivley... lol I have a 2001 block in my shop that usless to my 2003... I'll be building it for my 1st gen. If you get under a 2003 and take a look at where the 2002 and below's crank sensor normally is, you can see the spot where you would need to drill for the sensor. There is still a spot there in the casting. The blocks are identical... except for where the physical location of the sensor. Good 'ol DCX

I guess my next question would be is there any place to order one for less than what the dealers want. I have called a dozen salvage yards in my state and nobody has the part. I would rather have new or remanufactured if I can find one.
