Default 04 dodge neon rough idle

Its an Automatic and it only ideals rough and shakes the entire car when in drive stopped at stop lights or stop signs. N P 1 3 its all fine at a stop but in D it shakes the whole car and sounds like a earth quake o.o

Is it the ideal air control? Or is it something else?

I have no idea honestly it was in the shop for like 3 weeks they put the timing belt on wrong ruined the 1st engine then they put a new one in for free and fixed the motor mount did something to the power steering to see if it wouldn't stop the shaking and now me and my dad think its a vacuum leak or idle air control issue

They probably used cheap aftermarket engine mount or torque struts exacerbating the problem. What is your idle speed when you have this issue? Does the idle speed fluctuate, or is it steady?

My 2003 does exactly the same thing when rpm drops from 800 to 600 at a light. It was annoying enough and I just put up with it. The day my mechanic changed the water pump and timing belt the whole car shakes in neutral and drive and is now pretty much undriveable The rear view mirror is about ready to shake loose because the whole body shakes!

He got rid of the shake by adjusting the top motor mount. By just putting your finger on the mount and applying pressure it would stop shaking.

How the whole rest of the car shakes when you accelerate.

welcome to the world of neons after they get higher mileage on em.. one thing you can do is to replace the engine mounts with OE mounts from the dealer, thats bout $800 bucks and thats not labor included, just the mounts.. the after market ones do not cut down on the vibration at all hardly, seems the factory should have designed the engine with a balance shaft installed, this would have been a great help.. I still love mine even with the vibration..
