Default help please

I have, possibly a large problem. whenever i take my foot off the gas while im driving, i hear this semi loud "knocking" sound. it sounds like coming from like below the dashboard, at the bottom of the car. maybe around where the cat. is. i beat on the cat a little, but i didnt hear anything(i heard if you beat on the cat and its bad it sounds like theres rocks in it). Anyone have any clue as to what could be going on? thanks a lot for any responses

When you turn the steering to the maximum (either left or right) and move the car in a tight circle, does it make a loud clicking noise? If so your cv joints (the joints between the wheels and the transmissions shafts) need replacing. Else it could be some other joint of the front suspension that got loose.

I believe you guys were correct... when i turn the wheel to the left it gets a little fast, maybe louder... when i turn to the right it stops. so im thinking im looking at driver side cv axel. Thanks alot for the help.
