leaking trunk

Default leaking trunk

i have a 200 neon, and where my spare tire is, the tub always has a puddle in it afer it rains. anyone having the same problem, or know how to fix it.

if possible, do a smoke check yourself. If not pour small amounts of water over your car to see where the water is getting in. You'll have to replace whatever seal ends up being faulty. Your best bet would be to go to the dealership for a new trunk surround or possibly a rear window surround, depending on where the water is sneaking in.

i had that problem recently. i took out my tail lights and re-sealed them. it hasnt rained hard, but the spare tire well hasnt filled up with water either.

That's exactly what the prob is. I see quite a few Neons come through our shop complaining of water in the trunk or even on the floor of the back seat. It's ALWAYS one of the tail lights. Take em off, run a bead of silacone around the top where the light goes...on the car. Smoosh em back on and you'll be set.

comletly agree, i was lookning at it while it was raining and i saw drops coming from the tail light, i took it off i didnt use silicone, but i will if the problem is still there, it hasnt rained hard since i did that though, so time will tell.

Well i havent had that problem but only 3 months after I had the car.. I took out my factory taillights and put in some TYC Euro Lights.
