Default Hood switch??

So my remote start randomly quit working. It'll still honk when I press the button and sometimes start but immediately shuts off. I've read its commonly the hood switch but don't see one. Anyone know? 2005 neon sxt automatic

Welcome to the 2nd gen Neon forum.
167 reads but no replies, so I'll see if I can get things started.
If this is a OEM remote start, scan the computer for trouble code clues & post All code Numbers found, as they can help focus a trouble shoot.

It's not oem. Dealer installed it in 2007. No codes

Ok good feedback on no codes. Your correct that the hood switch belongs high up on the suspect list, so have a read & look see here for TSB 08-14-05 covering this problem. Let us know how it goes.

Ok that's good feedback, so if a number of the test scenarios were positive, maybe you'll have a good result with the switch replacement, will be interesting to hear how it goes.

Yeah I'll be switching them out as soon as I get the part so I'll post the results shortly after. Thanks again for getting me the part number I've been searching for forever

Well it was definitely the switch. Soldered the new one in and now it's working good as new. Thanks again for posting that link!
