Default idle dropping in traffic and spluttering and stalling

Hi there, i have a chrysler neon 2001. Everytime i'm stuck in traffic the idle goes low and as soon as i apply some throttle, the idle dips too much and it stalls (its an automatic by the way). The only way to avoid this is to apply way too much throttle which isn't really plausable if you have someone in front of you. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated? I thought it may be the map sensor but im having major problems just getting it out to clean.

Checked computer codes none are stored!

so looked up IAC and TPS and now know what they are, but ive just noticed that coolant is dripping from my radiator cap, so took the cap off and checked the seal it all seems ok, sucked a bit of the coolant out with a syringe as it seemed overfull. Seems to have stopped the drip and for now seems to not be stalling. Could a drop in pressure from over filling coolant make a radiator cap leaky and cause this problem with the idle and stalling?

No it would not. The radiator has an overflow bottle for when the fluid expands. The radiator should be full when cold. I'd be tempted to change the IAC first and clean the throttle body and give it a tune up.

Thanks, I just wondered as its not stalling now i've taken a little bit of coolant out, i think because it was so full, it was stopping the radiator cap sealing properly and was dripping out causing a drop in pressure. i've noticed also there is quite a bit of hesitation when accelerating as well? Should chryslers go like **** of a shuvle or are they a bit sluggish anyway? Also I'm using universal coolant, does it have to be a specific coolant or is that ok?

ive cleaned the IAC and the Throttle plate, but now when i start the car the revs go ridiculously high for a couple of seconds then come down to about 1500 and vary up and down and exhaust spluttering a bit? Any ideas? do i need to wait for the cleaner to dry?

All fixed turned out to be a hole in the air intake pipe just under the clip that was letting air in. The clip must have been rubbing against it. Put a bit of bicycle innertube over small hole and works fine now
