Question - Will these wheels fit?
I have a 2000 Dodge Neon. I am thinking about purchasing the Motegi MR4 17" wheels with tires. I was just wondering if they would fit my car. And if so, would i have to put different shocks or suspension on my car??
Here are the details for the wheels and tires:
4) WHEELS
Brand: Motegi Racing
Type: Silver
Model: MR4
Size: 17 x 7.0
Finish: Chrome
Condition: Used - 2 with minor rash
(4) TIRES
Brand: BF Goodrich
Type: Blue
Model: Scorcher T/A ZR
Size: 205/40 ZR17 84W
Condition: Used - 70% left - Very Good
If someone could help me out and let me know about these, that would be great. Thanks.

RE: Question - Will these wheels fit?
Provided that they match up to your bolt pattern, they should fit just fine. You could go up to 18's, but at that point you would need spacers on the rear wheels.
Just understand that you want to maintain the same ride height that you currently have. Otherwise you will have to possibly have the speedometer reset.

RE: Question - Will these wheels fit?
What's the offset of the wheels you are looking at? That will make a bigger difference than wheel diameter/width. If it's a more than a 40mm offset, you'll probably come very close to rubbing in back on the inside. If it's less than a 30mm offset, you risk rubbing on the fenderwells, particularly in front during tight turns.
... still trying to figure out how ride height could possibly affect speedometer readings... Overall tire diameter (not wheel diameter), yes. But ride height? As in lowering or raising the car? Nope... Those tires are physically smaller than the stock tires by about 1-3/4 inches. That means your speedometer will read 35 mph when you are actually doing 32.5ish, 65 mph when you are actually doing 60.5ish... About 7%, in other words.
I'm sure I've mentioned before, the Neon's speedometer has no calibration. There are no pots to adjust on the instrument cluster, and there is no such thing as reflashing the PCM to adjust for different tire sizes like I can do on my Ram. Unless you consider pulling the needle off and sticking it in a different position "calibration", which it isn't.
Best of luck!

RE: Question - Will these wheels fit?
Well instead of starting another post on what wheels will fit on a neon, i decided to just post my little question here. I know you need spacers on the back wheels for 18" wheels, but if i got 17"x8", rather than 17"x7", will i need spacers? I'm assuming i will because of the increased tire width, right??
Anyway, i want 18" wheels, but dont want to sacrifice ride quality b/c its my daily driver and i drive highway 45 miles one way every day, however, the 17" wheels i want only come in 17x8, not the regular 17x7.
(I am assuming the 18"s give worse ride quality then the 17"s from what ive heard, anyone with 18's care to say how the ride is???)
