Default automatic transmission

does anyone have the 3000 stahl convertor they make for the neon, i was wondering if it helps a noticable amount. also, kinda a dumb question where can you find out what kind of transmission you have. and if anyone knows other ways to make the transmission better for racing, from roll-ons and from off the line

The ATX is pretty much useless for racing unless you build the motor or turbo it. It is a fairly strong transmission and with a performance valve body and performance overhaul kit is a pretty good trans with a built motor.

Your thoughts on the ATX, I have an 02 with ATX wich is the 4 speed, 4 looks like it is the overdrive gear, I do most of my driving in town, so my thoughts no need for the overdrive. Would there be any harm to the trans to run it in 3rd gear. forgive me if this is a stupid question.

There is no need to shift it into 3rd unless it is jumping from 4th to 3rd alot. The car picks the best gear to be on depending on throttle position, speed, and load on the motor. Most of the time, just put it in D and go.
