Default water in the rear passenger driver side

i keep gettign this puddle when it rains in my driver side rear seat only that side. its not coming from my trunk b/c all the carpet except for that one area is dry the seat are dry and every thing i cant figure out where it may come from. is it possible that it's coming from underneath the car? im not really sure if its coming from the door cause once again i see no moisture. on the door. i dont know what to do but am considering raising the car and putting silicone around the foot well on the out side to see if its coming from there. anyone else got tips?

Check the rubber seal on the doorframe. It could be torn/ripped/punctured right above where you are getting a leak. I would also try sitting in the car and have someone run a hose over the door, see if that helps any.

I wouldnt go putting anything on the car until you can at least make an effort to pinpoint the leak. Hate to do all that work only to find out it didnt work.

I have had the same problem as well as a coworker with the same 2000 neon, i have just read about other people having the same problem and said that the water was coming through the taillights, and supposedly a bead of silicone around the lights will keep the water out.Well I have a 2000 4 door and after ever rain storm I find water on the back seat floor and the trunk where the spare sits. I have been through ever part of that car and can't find where it is coming in. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

The water is coming in from the taillights. Put a bead of silicone around them to seal it up. It is quite common on the neon.

I have a 98 Neon and I have had leaking since the day I bought it. The dealership put a new seal on the tail lights. That didn't work, they even ended up replacing the tail lights. That didn't work. The leak on mine is coming in the cracks of the trunk and running into the area by the tail light. If you open your trunk, you can see right down behind the tail lights where it is leaking. I just used some black electrical tape and sealed the hole my self. (you can't even see it) and the leaking has stopped!

Nope, check your spare tire for water. It flows under the rear seat and onto the rear floor.

spar tire is dry.. infact i check just after a rain and it's bone dry in the spot that was flooding i think what it is is that my rear driver side door has a bend in it or something so if i dont slam it closed it will leak water in cause its dry and we had some water. beside if it were coming trhough under the seat wouldnt both sides be wet ?

Me too! Thanks for the answers. It was driving me crazy. I had the dealer try to troubleshoot it and they were scratching their heads.

My car smells like mold and I am about to drive it off of a cliff (plenty of other problems). Now it is running on 3 cylinders. When I use my trun signal, my fog lights turn on and my radio gets all static. The throttle hangs up every so often too.

Good times!

And I get a clunking noise in the front end when I go over bumps, like speed bumps. I think I have a special edition Neon; the POS Neon!
