Default Emergency Brake Light?

Someone has already asked this question, but there wasn't really a good answer for it, so I am sorry for bringing it up again. Well the problem is, whenever I accelerate the red emergency brake light comes on the dashboard and makes a chime type sound. I was wondering if this is a big problem or if I should ignore it? And if it is a problem would it be an easy fix, where I could fix it myself?

I have the same problem, however i only get it when i go from a full stop and put the accelerator down half way or more. It just goes wack and screams at me "E BRAKE!" "E BRAKE"

What? I'm confused. The only time I get the E-Brake light is when I have the "E-Brake" engaged. And the only time I ever do that when I'm moving is when I'm screwing around in the snow in big open spaces. And I hardly even do it then.

alright lemme explain further

Its really kinda hard to let you know if you havent seen it. Basically what happens is... everything is fine and dandy until you come up to a stop light. When you give it a good amount of gas after that complete stop... the light comes on and bings at you that your e-brake is on.

I have checked my e-brake the first time it happened, and it was fully down. So, i continued driving and it happened at the next stop light as well. I dont understand it.

Does it do it every time you mash the gas from a stop? Maybe you have a short or something?

no actually. I have pretty much ruled out a short becuase it is a once in a while phenomenon. Some times it does it, sometimes it doesnt... like... it happens around on average maybe on 3 days every 2 weeks (me driving A LOT). So... its bugging me and i cant figure it out. Should I just live with it?

The E-brake light comes on but it isnt engaged in any way and just bings for like a couple seconds and goes away.

It might be a short but i cant tell because it is random at best.
