Default coilovers? chips?

hey wutz up guys? i am a new neon driver (long time lover) and have a few questions. i was wondering if you guys would recommend some of those like $20 chips on ebay that say they will +20hp. are they worth it, do they work, are they bad for your neon? also does anyone have coil overs on their neon? i need to know if they are worth buying. does anyone know where to buy them cheap? i dont want to spend more than $80 for them though. thanks for the response

Those 20hp+ chips are BS, they don't do anything. If you want good coilovers you are gonna spend close to $1000. There are no good coliovers for under $100. Those will not fit without some fabrication and will wear you struts out in 3 months.

There's no way you'll pay under 100 for a coilover. $$$ is performance.
The best thing u can do to your computer is to buy a reprogrammed one.

You can get them off of Ebay for like $80 and if you search a little they sell the same ones for just about all cars. They are garbage, you are better off with a hacksaw or tourching the springs, lol I am just curious, but I have not seen a good coilover for much under $1000, maybe $800, you know somethin I don't, if you do, please share, lol

go to motors.ebay.com and search car parts, type in your year make and model, then keyword coilovers. they are all over the place, for really cheap and still in the box. let me know what you guys think

Do you not listen, I am not trying to be an ***, but they are garbage, all of them!!!!!!!!!!! The only good stuff, other than the random ad, that you are gonna see on Ebay is the Mopar or Eibach springs, and Koni struts, which you will need with either spring. There is no way on this earth that you are going to get a good set of coil-overs for under $500 and probally $800-$1000. That is a fact unless you get them off a wreck or buy from an idiot that does not know what they have. You ask a question to the "pros" and then question our responses. We have all saw those "Ebay deals" and asked the same question at one time or another. Buy what you want and learn the hard way.

I have some experience with these miracle ebay finds (not too costly but experience). My first strut bar I bought for my car was one of those DC knockoffs that cost $30, It looked great in the pictures and all. However, after only a week of having it on my car the cheaply welded strut bar broke at almost every single weld point! (not to mention it was made of some cheap metal) Now, that was only $45(with shipping) down the drain, but same concept. The next one i bought was a genuine carbon steel DC Sports made in the USA which cost me close to $120, but hey, at least i knew it wasnt gonna break after a week.

Anyway, just remember, IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS!

The only coilovers you will find for under $100 are sleaves, the do nothing more than lower the car and make it handle bad.

Real Coilovers are going to run you around $1000 for a good set like the ones I use on my car http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=8 The car rotates beautifully, and still rides nice.

AFX computers for 00-02, and Jet Chips from 03-05 are the only thing that actually work.

i dunno about the chips they sound kinda ify to me but i put a full set of EBACH professional coilovers and the drop wus very impressive the only thing u might need to consider are your shocks the lower the car goes the more likely they're gunna pop trust me im pretty low and all 4 struts are gone the good shocks are gunna run me about 80 sumthuin a pop. the car is drivable with the shocks popped but if they are gone ull hear clinging like if sumthing wus loose soung good luck! and i do recomend EBACH PROFFEIONAL coilovrs!
