Default motor mounts

my neon has been sputtering and hesitating at stop lights and when it accelerates from a dead stop. it doesnt happen all of the time, but often enough to annoy me. i found on another post that if i have platinum plugs they are bad for my neon so i am going to get some ngk's tomorrow and new wires and a new oxygen sensor. the only other problem i have found is that there is a clunk under the hood occasionally when this problem happens. i thought that a 2001 could not have a bad motor mount so i asked a few people and it turns out that everyone thinks that is what it is. can anyone tell me how much i am looking to spend on one, then again on another post i read that there were four motor mounts. any help would be appreciated, thanks

I doubt if you broke all of them.

Thats just inserts which will be fine unless you have totally killed yours or you are looking for perfect. The correct way would be to get full race MM's or new stock ones and the inserts, but if you are just looking for a cheap fix and some stiffer mounts then the inserts are the way to go. I am not 100% sure, but I think there are only 3 and the strut like on my 98. Should be one by the lower radiator, one on either side of the top of the motor(drivers and passengers side) and then the strut/shock on the bottom by the exhuast. The insterts just go inside the existing motor mounts and make them stiffer. Heres the link I found: Howell Automotive . Thats the shock and a choice of inserts. the shock is $75 I think, but thats probally not bad. Just take a good look and see if the ones are the car are torn real bad, if not the inserts will make a world of difference
